BMO is currently sourcing for an IT Project Manager - Senior. This is a hybrid contract role in Toronto (2 days in office per week).
Role Overview:
The Senior IT Project Manager will support technology projects within the North American and Commercial Banking (NACB) Technology PMO team, focusing on Online Business Banking (OLBB) initiatives. The role involves managing fast-paced, multiple implementations using a hybrid Agile/Waterfall approach, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and business impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring scope, time, cost, and quality commitments are met.
Coordinate and direct business and technology resources, user groups, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
Drive change and communications planning in collaboration with stakeholders.
Oversee governance controls to ensure compliance with performance, quality, and methodology standards.
Collaborate closely with multiple technology teams to deliver project components.
Anticipate and manage escalations and project risks proactively.
Support sprint planning and quick delivery cycles within a fast-paced environment.
Must-Have Skills:
8+ years of project management experience.
Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
Technology project management expertise (not Scrum Master role).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Experience working with multiple technology teams and complex project environments.
Nice to Have Skills:
Banking industry experience.
Familiarity with Jira and Confluence tools.
Educational background in Computer Science or Information Systems.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience managing projects within commercial or online banking technology environments.
Ability to anticipate project challenges and escalate issues effectively.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-project delivery setting.
Strong instinct for identifying and resolving problems before they impact delivery.
Qualifications
Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies: 5 - 15 years (Required)
