Job description

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Operating and Development Officer, the Western Region Development Director will take ownership of major gift fundraising throughout the Western U.S., with an initial focus on Los Angeles and Colorado and opportunities to expand into markets including San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, and beyond.

You will inherit an established base of donors while having significant latitude to develop new relationships, create a prospect pipeline, engage volunteer leaders, and grow the region's philanthropic impact. The current Western portfolio is approximately $1 million, with an ambitious goal to grow it to $1.5 million and beyond.

This is a highly visible role with direct access to senior leadership and an unusually engaged Board. Over time, there is potential to build a team and expand ImpactIsrael's presence across the region.

What You'll Do
Own and grow a portfolio of major and prospective donors, with a focus on gifts of $10,000+ and ultimately six-figure commitments.
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward high-capacity donors and turn relationships into meaningful philanthropic investments.
Build a strong pipeline of new prospects through networking, referrals, Board relationships, research, and personal outreach.
Expand ImpactIsrael's visibility and donor network across key Western markets.
Partner with the CEO, Chief Operating and Development Officer, Board members, and volunteer leaders on major gift strategy and solicitations.
Develop creative cultivation opportunities, donor meetings, and intimate events that open doors to new relationships.
Travel extensively throughout the region and represent ImpactIsrael with confidence and credibility in high-level philanthropic settings.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a builder, self-starter, and confident major gift fundraiser who thrives with autonomy. You know how to develop relationships, make the ask, and create momentum without needing day-to-day direction.

The ideal candidate will bring:

5+ years of successful fundraising, business development, sales, or relationship management experience; 3+ years may be considered for an exceptional candidate.
A demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships and personally secure significant gifts or high-value partnerships.
Comfort soliciting $10,000+ gifts and engaging sophisticated, high-net-worth donors.
Strong knowledge of the Jewish philanthropic community; experience with a Jewish or Israel-focused organization is highly valued.
A genuine passion for Israel and commitment to ImpactIsrael's mission.
Excellent interpersonal skills, executive presence, and the ability to build trust with donors, volunteers, and community leaders.
The independence, persistence, and entrepreneurial mindset to build a territory from the ground up while leveraging an existing foundation.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout the Western U.S.
