Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Digital Specialist I for a 6-month project-based 1099 independent contractor assignment. This position is responsible for preparing, scanning, indexing, and performing quality control on a high volume of client records. The ideal candidate will have experience in document management, data entry, or high-volume production environments and be comfortable working with computers, scanners, and other technology.
Project Commitment
This is a 6-month project, and we are looking for individuals who can commit to the full duration of the assignment. Consistent attendance and reliability are essential to meeting project deadlines. Candidates should be able to maintain the required project schedule and communicate any known scheduling conflicts or planned absences during the selection process.
Clean Room Environment
This work will be performed within a controlled Clean Room environment. As some materials may have been exposed to asbestos, strict adherence to established safety procedures, PPE requirements, and documented handling protocols is required at all times. Vital Records Control will follow applicable safety and handling procedures to protect personnel and maintain the integrity of client records. Required safety and Clean Room training will be provided.
Essential Functions
Prepare and scan high volumes of paper documents according to client specifications.
Perform data entry, document indexing, and quality-control functions.
Utilize automatic feeder and flatbed scanners to process various document and paper sizes.
Locate and select appropriate client files within computer systems.
Set scanner parameters according to individual project requirements.
Accurately log document and box numbers for future retrieval.
Review scanned images and data for accuracy and quality.
Perform routine scanner cleaning and basic troubleshooting.
Meet established daily productivity and quality benchmarks.
Follow all Clean Room, PPE, safety, and document-handling procedures.
Assist team members with document preparation, scanning, and indexing as needed.
Complete additional project-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Preferred Experience & Skills
Previous document management, document imaging, records management, or data-entry experience preferred.
Experience working in a high-volume production or processing environment.
Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new technology and software.
Comfortable operating scanners and other electronic equipment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
Dependable and able to consistently report to work as scheduled.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to troubleshoot basic computer or scanning issues.
Willingness to follow strict Clean Room, PPE, and safety requirements.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
The position regularly requires standing and walking and may occasionally require sitting, climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Individuals must be able to reach, handle, carry, and lift materials weighing between 10 and 50 pounds.
1099 Project Information
This opportunity is structured as a 1099 independent contractor engagement for an anticipated duration of approximately 6 months. Candidates should be available and committed to completing the full project term and meeting the established project schedule.
