Salary Range: $49,250 - $73,000

Program Summary

The Leadership & Career Studies (L&CS) at Temple University is a four-year certificate program for young adults with intellectual disability or intellectual disability and autism, housed in the Institute on Disabilities in the College of Education and Human Development. L&CS offers an authentic college experience while developing our students' academic abilities, career aspirations, community engagement, and self-determination.

The Leadership and Career Studies Program Manager provides the strategic oversight and day-to-day administration of the L&CS program, ensuring full compliance with county, state, and Pennsylvania waiver system regulations. This role leads a multidisciplinary team—including the Coordinator of Student Supports, Coordinator of Academic Relations, Career Development Specialist, and Graduate Research Assistant—directing their work and supporting their professional growth and performance.

The Program Manager champions person-centered planning for all students and maintains program quality by developing goals. and monitoring Quality Plans for the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP). Responsibilities include managing billing compliance, maintaining accurate program data and documentation, and upholding provider qualifications through Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disabilities Services (DBHIDS) and ODP, and ensures a high standard of advising services for all L&CS students.

A key component of this role is student recruitment and enrollment. The Program Manager networks regionally with teachers, transition coordinators, prospective students, and families; manages the application process through the Destiny One platform; and plans and facilitates prospective student interview days, new student and peer mentor orientation, annual information sessions, and high school group visits. The Program Manager also coordinates with external agencies and partners to advance program goals.

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree and at least four years of directly-related experience in higher education, special education, or educational supports and service programs for individuals with disabilities. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities

* Working knowledge of Inclusive Higher Education programs for young adults with intellectual disability or intellectual disability and autism.

* Experience working with organizations serving family members of individuals with intellectual disability.

* Working knowledge of all applicable computer software and applicable professional principles.
