Business Systems Architect & AI Automation Lead | Brooklyn, NY · $70,000–$90,000

About the Role:
A growing company is hiring a Business Systems Architect & AI Automation Lead to own its business systems migration and turn its custom software platform into the company's central operating system. This is a strategic role, not a hands-on development one — the person in it decides whether a need belongs in the custom platform, an AI workflow, an automation tool, or an external integration, then guides that decision from design through implementation. They'll work directly with leadership and department heads across sales, onboarding, operations, billing, customer success, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Strategy & Architecture

  • Analyze business processes across departments and design scalable technology solutions
  • Determine the right tool for each need — custom software, AI workflow, automation platform, or external integration
  • Own the overall system architecture from design through implementation

Implementation & Oversight

  • Lead the migration of business systems and oversee implementation of custom software, AI-powered workflows, and integrations
  • Work closely with developers, review technical solutions, and support QA
  • Provide guidance and direction throughout the implementation process

Ongoing Support & Optimization

  • Support, optimize, and enhance the platform as the company grows
  • Partner with leadership and department heads on evolving operational needs
  • Shape how systems, automation, and AI capabilities develop over time

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with business systems, custom software, or systems architecture
  • Programming background, with comfort reviewing technical solutions and supporting QA
  • Strong understanding of AI and automation tools
  • Experience implementing business systems in a growing organization
  • Familiarity with workflows, reporting, dashboards, integrations, and APIs
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Slack, Google Workspace, and other business applications a plus
  • Highly personable and business-minded, comfortable working across departments
