ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
The Department of Economics and Finance in the Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University is seeking applicants for a full-time tenure track faculty position in Economics at the rank of assistant professor, to begin in fall 2027. Approximately 3,000 students are enrolled in the Tobin College of Business. Together they represent 36 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, American Samoa and 75 foreign countries. The Department offers BS/BA in economics in both the Tobin College of Business and St. John’s College of Arts and Sciences. It also supports the undergraduate business core, graduate business programs and undergraduate and graduate programs in various liberal arts disciplines.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include maintaining an active research profile, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, and contributing to the university through service. These activities are all essential for tenure and promotion at the Tobin College of Business. Our faculty engage in professional and program development, assessment, and service to the university and the broader community.

A Ph.D. in Economics is required for tenure track position. We seek colleagues whose research and teaching will strengthen our undergraduate and graduate programs and contribute to the intellectual life of the Department, College and University.
