VSC Fire and Security in Baltimore, Maryland is seeking candidates for the position of General Product Sales.

What you need:

Three to five (3-5) years of experience in contract sales of suppression systems or suppression design.
Demonstrated sales experience with strong prospecting skills, proven history of successful sales and contract negotiation.
In-depth knowledge and experience related to the installation and maintenance of fire protection systems, especially kitchen hood suppression systems, dry chemical suppression systems and fire extinguishers.
Knowledge of applicable state and local codes, Fire Marshals, NFPA 72 Standard, ADA and Authorities Having Jurisdiction governing the location of the company's work geography.
Good record keeping skills is essential to complete forms and documentation related to sales and estimating proposals.
Monitor and enforce safety policies and procedures.
Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.
Ability to pass various background checks.
Reliable transportation, valid State Driver's License with acceptable driving record for use of company vehicle.
Desirable (but not required!):
NICET Level I certification.
What you will do:

Engage with clients to thoroughly understand their fire, life safety and security requirements, providing customized fire suppression system solutions.
Identify and tare potential clients who require life safety inspection and testing services.
Collaborate with contractors to participate in bid processes and develop proposals that align with project specifications.
Ensure the integration of fire and security systems within the broader project framework, enhancing overall safety.
Pursue continuous learning opportunities to expand knowledge and stay current with industry trends and technological advancements in fire suppression systems.
Promote and deliver high-quality fire suppression systems to clients.
Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, emerging trends and competitive landscape within the industry.
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and repeat business.
Prepare detailed and persuasive sales proposals and presentations tailored to the unique needs of each client, highlighting the value proposition of the offered solutions.
Monitor and analyze sales metrics, forecasting future sales to meet goals and adjusting strategies as necessary.
Ensure all system designs comply with local, state and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
Work with clients to develop budgets for projects, ensuring solutions are cost-effective while meeting safety and security requirements.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure the availability of high-quality components and timely delivery for projects.
Provide training and educational resources to clients on the operations and maintenance of installed fire suppression systems, ensuring they can fully utilize the technology.
Lead contract negotiations with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that protect both the clients and company's interests.
take part in engineering, project management, and customer service teams to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
Periodically review and analyze performance metrics to optimize sales techniques and achieve or exceed targets.
This role is designated as safety-sensitive due to responsibilities that could entail the use of motor vehicles, mobile equipment, working at heights, climbing ladders, and utilizing lift equipment.

Maintain proper Risk Management and Safety procedures on all job sites per VSC policies.
