Accounting Associate

We are seeking an Accounting Associate to join our growing industrial distribution company in Brooklyn, NY (boro park area). This is an in-person role on a small, close-knit team, offering broad exposure across the accounting function and the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of day-to-day responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• accounts payable
• general accounting
• banking
• reconciliations
• other day-to-day accounting and operational activities
• particular focus on accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, cash application, collections, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate customer balances
• work closely with our outsourced accounting team, accountants, and consultants to support the company's overall accounting and financial operations

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build broad accounting experience and work closely with the founder, the company's accounting firm, and external accounting and financial professionals. From time to time, the role will also provide accounting and administrative support for the company's foundation and charitable activities.

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a small-team environment. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel and systems skills, a willingness to learn, and the flexibility to take on a variety of responsibilities across the business.
