Software Developer – Data & Analytics
Location: New Jersey – Onsite
Position Type: Full-Time
We are looking for a Software Developer with strong data and analytics skills to join our development team.
This role will work across software development, data analysis, reporting, automation, and data processing. The ideal candidate is very comfortable working with SQL and large datasets, can analyze and transform data effectively, and also has enough development experience to contribute to application and automation work.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data-driven applications, processes, and tools.
- Write complex SQL queries to analyze, retrieve, and transform data.
- Work with large datasets and troubleshoot data-related issues.
- Develop stored procedures and other database-driven functionality.
- Perform data analysis and prepare reports based on business requirements.
- Build and maintain data processing and automation workflows.
- Assist with moving, transforming, and processing data between systems.
- Use Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation as needed.
- Work with C#/.NET applications and make application changes when needed.
- Work with Excel for data review, analysis, and reporting.
- Validate data accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
- Troubleshoot existing processes and implement improvements.
- Work independently from defined requirements with minimal supervision.
- Communicate progress, questions, and blockers clearly with the development team.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of professional software development, data, or related technical experience.
- Strong SQL Server and T-SQL skills.
- Experience writing complex queries using joins, CTEs, subqueries, window functions, and aggregations.
- Experience developing and working with stored procedures.
- Comfortable working with large and complex datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good working knowledge of Excel.
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis, scripting, or automation.
- Basic familiarity with C#/.NET.
- Basic experience with Git or other source control.
- Ability to investigate data issues and determine the underlying cause.
- Ability to work independently from defined requirements with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Experience building or maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Experience with data automation and scheduled processing.
- Experience creating reports or analytics from operational data.
- Experience with data quality validation and reconciliation.
- Healthcare or healthcare claims data experience is a plus, but not required.
A college degree is not required. We are primarily looking for someone with strong technical and analytical skills who can work comfortably with data while also contributing to software development and automation.
