Job description
The Role
We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Development & Operations Coordinator to work closely with the founder and help across fundraising, administration, recruitment, partnerships, and day-to-day operations.
This is not a traditional administrative position with a narrow job description. Basheret is a fast-growing, entrepreneurial nonprofit, and the right person will be someone who enjoys wearing many hats, figuring things out, and taking projects from an idea to completion.
Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Outreach
• Research potential individual donors, foundations, family offices, and philanthropic organizations
• Help build and maintain our donor pipeline
• Draft and personalize donor outreach emails and follow-ups
• Coordinate meetings and keep track of donor conversations and next steps
• Research new fundraising opportunities
Grants
• Identify relevant foundations and grant opportunities
• Complete grant applications and funding forms
• Help prepare supporting materials, budgets, and documentation
• Maintain a calendar of application and reporting deadlines
• Follow up on submitted applications
Recruitment & Team Support
• Help recruit matchmakers, volunteers, consultants, interns, and other team members
• Post positions across relevant platforms and communities
• Review applications and coordinate interviews
• Help with onboarding and administrative processes
Operations & Administration
• Support the founder with day-to-day administrative needs
• Manage spreadsheets, databases, documents, and follow-ups
• Coordinate meetings and communications
• Help research potential partners, organizations, events, and opportunities
• Assist with special projects across marketing, fundraising, partnerships, and operations
• Generally be the person who can say: “I’ll figure it out and get it done.”
Who We’re Looking For
You might be a great fit if you are:
• Extremely organized and detail-oriented
• A strong writer and communicator
• Comfortable reaching out to people you don’t know
• Excellent at online research
• Resourceful and able to figure things out independently
• Comfortable juggling many different priorities
• Fast, responsive, and reliable
• Confident using Google Workspace, spreadsheets, LinkedIn, and other online tools
• Excited by an entrepreneurial/startup environment rather than needing a highly structured corporate role
• Genuinely passionate about making a difference
Experience in nonprofits, fundraising, grant writing, recruitment, executive assistance, or operations is an advantage, but we care just as much about intelligence, attitude, initiative, and the ability to get things done.
Knowledge of the Jewish nonprofit or philanthropic world would be particularly valuable.
