Assistant Rabbi (Part-time) at Beth Tikvah Synagogue (Grafton, MA)

We are an inclusive, egalitarian and fully participatory independent congregation near Worcester (MA). Our synagogue offers Shabbat and holiday services, a growing Hebrew School, and various community building events, including torah studies, evening education programs, and member-led activities. Familiarity with Central Massachusetts Jewish Community is a plus.

We seek a part-time Assistant Rabbi to help lead outreach and membership building efforts, particularly for Central Massachusetts seniors and young families, and support and complement our Rabbi, Michael Swarttz, in leading services, providing community support and care, and participation in Hebrew School and adult education activities. There is a potential opportunity to grow this position into a permanent leadership role. Start date: late Fall/early Winter.

Specific outreach activities may include:

* Attend Central Massachusetts community events and activities as an emissary for Beth Tikvah
* Partner with other area synagogues for community-wide events
* Participation in interfaith community programming/leadership
* Participate in programming with Central Massachusetts Senior Centers and other organizations
* Visit and engage with area colleges and universities, especially, but not limited to Jewish groups and organizations on campuses
