Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

We are partnering with a fast-growing enterprise health technology company building modern infrastructure for pharmacy benefit management and health plan administration.

As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, you will combine hands-on backend development with client-facing technical leadership. You'll architect serverless Python applications, manage enterprise API integrations, and lead complex technical onboardings for major client organizations from initial solution design to production.

Key Responsibilities

Build & Deploy: Write high throughput, serverless backend applications using Python (Flask, SQLAlchemy) on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS).

Lead Client Integrations: Work directly with client technical teams to define requirements, design custom API integrations, and execute secure data exchanges.

Database Architecture: Optimize complex PostgreSQL queries, data models, and indexing strategies to maintain high system performance.

Maintain Quality & Security: Write clean code, lead code reviews, manage infrastructure with Terraform, and maintain solid test coverage using Playwright.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with internal product managers, designers, and client stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions on time.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of hands-on Python experience (preferably using Flask and SQLAlchemy) building complex web applications.

Strong working knowledge of TypeScript (React) on the front end.

Solid experience with AWS serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS), PostgreSQL, and Terraform.

Proven track record in a client-facing technical role (Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Lead).

Experience with microservices, API development, Linux/Bash, and Git mono-repos.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

HealthTech or Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) experience is a plus but not required.
