Job description
POSITION OVERVIEW
This is the person who decides what the #1 brand social presence in America does next. You'll own social as a function at Fishwife — content strategy, storytelling, influencer program, brand partnerships, and a real budget to run them with — reporting directly to our marketing leadership, with no layer between your idea and the internet. You set the calendar and lead content creation. You find the collab, negotiate it, and launch it. We're a marketing team of 4 building a brand that already punches several weight classes above us, and you're not inheriting a machine — you're building the one that takes us from cult favorite to household staple. Accountable for brand awareness, engagement, campaign performance, and content quality across channels.
This position is Full-time, remote.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media Management
Develop and lead cross-platform content strategy, editorial planning, and publishing calendars across owned social channels, including Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms such as YouTube
Craft compelling, brand-aligned copy and storytelling that strengthens audience engagement, brand affinity, and community growth
Analyze and report on social performance metrics, including audience growth, engagement, reach, and impressions, translating insights into actionable recommendations
Monitor cultural trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform content strategy and broader brand positioning
Leverage platform insights, audience data, and evolving algorithm trends to optimize content performance, engagement, and channel growth
Content Creation / UGC
Own and oversee content development across marketing channels, partnering cross-functionally to optimize creative for social, paid media, email, partnerships, and broader brand initiatives
Lead end-to-end content production lifecycle, including concept development, creative briefing, project management, publishing, and performance optimization
Adapt and optimize creative assets to align with platform-specific best practices, audience behavior, and channel objectives
Capture and produce original content as needed to supplement campaign, paid, and brand creative assets
Manage content marketing budget, allocating resources strategically across content production, creators, partnerships, and campaign initiatives to maximize performance and brand impact
Brand Partnerships
Support brand partnerships strategy and execution in collaboration with marketing leadership; shape annual partnership calendar aligned with company priorities and growth goals
Support identification, evaluation, outreach, negotiation, and management of prospective brand partnerships
Drive planning and execution of collaborations, launches, activations, and co-branded campaigns from concept through launch
Serve as primary point of contact for partners, building and nurturing strategic relationships that drive brand awareness, engagement, and business growth
Project manage cross-functional partnership initiatives across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and alignment
Cross-Functional Leadership
Align cross-functional stakeholders (growth, brand, creative, CX, product) around campaigns, priorities, and performance goals
Communicate strategy, performance insights, and tradeoffs clearly to peers and leadership
Drive alignment between brand and performance marketing to avoid silos
Collaborate with Sales to strengthen in-store brand touchpoints — demo collaborations, demo collateral, BA content support
Support key retail accounts through organic marketing efforts
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years in social, content, or brand marketing at a consumer brand, with at least 2 years owning strategy
A track record you can point to: an account you grew, a piece of content that broke out, a campaign that moved the business. Numbers matter, but so does taste
You are a writer first. Fishwife's voice is specific, funny, and unmistakable — you need to be able to hear it and extend it
Native fluency in internet culture. You know why something is funny on TikTok and dead on Instagram, and you know it in real time, not from a trend report
You can shoot and edit yourself — iPhone, CapCut or Premiere, Lightroom. This role produces, not just briefs
Hands-on experience sourcing, negotiating, and running brand partnerships or creator deals end to end, including budgets and contract terms
Comfort with analytics: native platform insights plus e-comm and affiliate reporting. You can build the deck and defend the read
Strong project management instincts — you can run a launch calendar across freelancers, partners, and internal teams without dropping threads
Startup speed and a genuine ownership mentality. You'll have a lot of rope and very little process
Nice to have
Food, beverage, or CPG experience, especially a brand with retail distribution
Paid social experience, or partnering closely with a growth team
Community management at scale — you like the comments section
Experience building or running a creator/affiliate program from scratch
Tools
Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, an affiliate/creator platform (e.g. ShopMy, Levanta), CapCut or Adobe CC, Notion, Shopify
