Job description
Responsibilities:
Nutrition Consultations: Provide one-on-one nutrition consultations and dietary assessments to individuals referred by the Clinic's healthcare providers.
Nutrition Classes: Organize and conduct nutrition classes. Educate participants about healthy eating habits, balanced diets, portion control, and the importance of proper nutrition in managing diabetes and preventing complications.
Cooking Demonstrations: Lead cooking demonstrations that showcase healthy recipes, including diabetes-friendly meals.
Collaborative Care: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals at the Clinic, such as physicians, nurses, and counselors, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care
Adherence to Policies and Guidelines: Adhere to Shepherd's Clinic policies, guidelines, and relevant regulations while providing nutrition services.
Qualifications:
Education and Licensure: Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institution. Hold a valid license as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) or be a licensed Dietitian (LD) in the state of Maryland.
Experience: Proven experience working as a Nutritionist or Dietitian, preferably in a clinical or community health setting.
Knowledge: Thorough understanding of nutrition principles, dietary guidelines, and their application in managing chronic diseases.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex nutrition information to individuals with varying backgrounds and literacy levels.
Organization and Time Management: Efficiently manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records. Demonstrated ability to handle a caseload of patients effectively.
Insurance coverage is required.

Commensurate with experience
