Job description

The Director of Business Development (DBD) is responsible for the overall management and direction for sales and business development in assigned office(s). The DBD implements and carries out the sales initiatives set forth by the Area Director of Operations (ADO). In this role, you will report to the Regional VP and GM of Long Term Care Division (RVPGM).

Duties/Responsibilities:

Responsible for expanding business while consistently achieving customer satisfaction with existing and potential client/partners and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customers

Focus on developing local Community Relations Managers (CRM)

Develops and guides the Family Navigators (FN) In collaboration with the local Director of Operations (DOO)

Collaborates with the local DO on sales goals and activities

Responsible for generating sales to meet and exceed assigned goals and quotas/productivity

Understands and promotes the Compliance Plan and the HIPAA Plan within areas of responsibility

Functions within multiple work teams in the organization to promote win-win solutions

Collaborates/communicates successfully with multiple internal and external departments/businesses

Takes initiative to creatively find new untapped sources of business while following applicable state and federal guidelines

Finds new prospective customers, presents business ideas to them and converts them into clients

Plans/approaches/pitches and works with the team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns and objectives

Follows company policy on complaint process

Submits weekly progress reports to DOO which tracks/records activity on accounts and liaison development using appropriate technology

Works successfully with local DOO to create new corporate partnerships to ensure financial growth; responsible for credentialing these businesses

Identifies proactively marketing and education issues, considers decision alternatives and proposed best available solution for complex problems

Secures/maintains agreements with vendors in collaboration with the DOO

Attends industry functions as assigned and provides feedback and information on market and creative trends and implements where necessary

Removes barriers that might interfere with team participation and performance for assigned team(s)

Consistently achieves customer satisfaction with existing clients/partners

Responsible for CRM orientation/probation, evaluations, productivity and progressions of sales force within the local branch

Ensures recruitment of qualified sales staff and participates in the hiring process

Sets and manages performance goals, quotas and career paths for self and for direct reports

Collaborates and strategizes with DOO for growth opportunities and focus

Leads networking and relationship building efforts with referral sources, potential referral sources and Director of Nursing (DON)

Plans/participates in weekly, quarterly and annual sales meetings

Reviews daily/weekly/monthly sales numbers using appropriate technology and acts upon data

Participates in the Performance Improvement process especially the Annual Program Evaluation as regards strategic planning and the business plan

Develops an Annual Business Plan for the branch office in collaboration with the DOO

Submits reports/documentation within required timeframes

Maintains confidentiality of agency, employee and patient matters

Creates and disseminates sales collaterals after educating staff

Promotes the Agency mission, vision, goals, and philosophy within the community

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

Able to communicate effectively with all levels of authority

Computer knowledge (preferred)

Able to function independently, problem solve to help move the area forward in the market

Able to lead staff during high growth mode and bring team to maximum potential

Able to handle stressful situations and deadlines

Knowledge of home care reimbursement and Medicare/Medicaid/insurance criteria required

Knowledge of other providers in the region and their reimbursement

Proven performance as a sales leader and team builder

Able to demonstrate excellent facilitation skills when managing projects or teams

Travel may be required

Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:

Three to five years of management and sales/marketing experience in home care or a related healthcare field

BA/BS degree (preferred)
