Job Description
We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer 2 to support the implementation, automation, and operation of AWS cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices. In this role, you will help build and maintain infrastructure, improve CI/CD pipelines, support application deployments, and contribute to the reliability, security, and performance of production systems. You will work closely with senior DevOps engineers, software engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver stable, scalable, and secure cloud solutions.
Responsibilities
Support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as CDK or AWS CloudFormation while following established security, governance, and operational standards.
Build, update, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, and related DevOps tools to support reliable software delivery.
Assist with containerized applications and cloud-native services using Docker, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, and related technologies.
Contribute to infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational improvements using CloudWatch, Splunk, and other observability tools.
Participate in production support, incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and deployment support to help maintain reliable application environments.
Collaborate with software engineering, security, architecture, and infrastructure teams to apply DevOps and DevSecOps practices, support cloud migration efforts, and improve operational efficiency.
Document processes, contribute to technical standards, share knowledge with the team, and identify opportunities to improve automation, reliability, and cloud cost awareness.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Infrastructure Engineering, or a related technical role.
2+ years of hands-on experience supporting or managing AWS cloud environments.
Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Route 53, ELB, and Auto Scaling.
Experience building, maintaining, or troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or Azure DevOps.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using CDK and/or AWS CloudFormation.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Experience supporting application deployments or production environments, including participation in on-call or operational support rotations.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication, collaboration, documentation, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Associate-level certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified Developer – Associate, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate; AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional is a plus.
Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud environments, cloud migration activities, or workload modernization projects.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, OpenSearch, Splunk, Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus, or Grafana.
Basic understanding of cloud cost optimization concepts using AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, AWS Trusted Advisor, Compute Optimizer, or similar tools.
