Job description
This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktop computers, peripherals, software, and related systems. The role involves the timely resolution of issues affecting hardware, software, and user permissions, as well as performing routine hardware maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, peripherals, and software.
Provide timely resolution for hardware, software, and user permission issues.
Support Windows XP/7 and Server operating systems within a managed desktop environment.
Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining customer focus.
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
Maintain attention to detail and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
Education: A BS Degree in computer science or a combination of education and relevant experience is required.
Experience: 3-6 years of relevant work experience is required.
Technical Skills:
Detailed knowledge of basic computer concepts, PC hardware, software troubleshooting, and workstation hardware (desktop/laptop).
Experience supporting Windows XP/7 and Server operating systems.
Solid knowledge of networks including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Windows Server networking.
Basic working knowledge of Linux/UNIX systems (Red Hat preferable) at a user level.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting Macintosh OS X (10.4 and upwards).
Microsoft MCSA/MCSE certification.
Additional vendor administrator level certifications, such as Apple ACMT/ACSP and Cisco CCNA.
