Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist to support the identification, normalization, reconciliation, and onboarding of software products into the ServiceNow CMDB. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SAM processes, software discovery, application normalization, publisher/product identification, and CMDB data quality.

Responsibilities:
Identify, review, and validate software applications and installations.
Create and update software records in the CMDB using SAM best practices.
Perform software normalization, categorization, and publisher/product mapping.
Identify software publishers, products, versions, editions, and licensing information.
Ensure accurate software titles, versions, publishers, and relationships.
Reconcile software discovery data with CMDB records.
Identify and resolve duplicate, incomplete, or inaccurate software records.
Support software license tracking, compliance, and entitlement data.
Maintain data quality and consistency across SAM and CMDB.
Follow CMDB and SAM data governance standards and best practices.
Prepare documentation and reports related to software inventory, normalization, and CMDB updates.

Mandatory Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM/CMDB.
Strong understanding of Software Asset Management and CMDB concepts.
Experience with software discovery, normalization, and reconciliation.
Knowledge of software publishers, products, versions, and licensing models.
Strong Excel/data analysis skills.
Attention to detail and strong data-quality management skills.
