Job description

What You'll Do
Renovation & Construction
Complete assigned remodeling, renovation, and small construction projects throughout Vincentian facilities.
Assist with a variety of projects involving carpentry, painting, flooring, repairs, and other renovation work.
Assist technical leads with construction and renovation projects as needed.
Read and interpret schematic drawings and blueprints.
Use appropriate construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment for each project.
Coordinate work activities with supervisors, facility staff, contractors, and vendors.
Travel between Vincentian locations based on project and operational needs.
Relocate to other work locations as needed to support organizational priorities.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Complete all work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Follow OSHA requirements, NFPA standards, Life Safety Code requirements, and other applicable safety practices.
Follow facility-specific work restrictions and safety protocols, particularly those associated with healthcare and regulated environments.

Use only appropriate materials and products approved for use in healthcare and childcare facilities.
Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Help protect the safety, security, and integrity of Vincentian buildings and the people who live and work in them.
Minimize disruption to residents, employees, visitors, and daily facility operations.

Consult with the appropriate supervisor or safety personnel when questions regarding safety, compliance, or materials arise.
Tools, Equipment & Work Orders
Maintain and properly care for Vincentian-provided tools, equipment, and vehicles.

Operate electronic devices such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones to create, receive, and update work orders.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Communicate project needs, progress, and concerns to supervisors in a timely manner.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned in support of the Renovation Team.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Five years of construction/renovation/remodeling experience.
Current and valid driver's license.

Strong communication skills.
Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, including administrators, managers, and employees.
Ability to operate electronic devices such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Ability to read and understand schematic drawings and blueprints.
Preferred Qualifications
Trade school degree, certification, or related training.
Previous experience working in a hospital, nursing home, or other healthcare environment.
Working knowledge of renovation and construction methods used in Department of Health-regulated medical facilities.
Working knowledge of OSHA standards, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 70, and other healthcare-related safety requirements.
