Job description
The Techno-Functional Workday Architect serves as a bridge between HR business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, owning end-to-end solution design across Workday HCM and Integrations. This role combines deep functional knowledge with hands on technical capability to design scalable, compliant, and efficient enterprise solutions.
Main areas of responsibilities:
Functional Configuration
Lead solution design across Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Recruiting, Talent, and Payroll modules.
Partner with HR teams to translate business requirements into scalable Workday configurations.
Conduct impact assessments for releases, enhancements, and regulatory changes.
Own governance frameworks for access, role rationalization, and audit readiness.
Follow SDLC framework for enhancements and projects.
Integration Architecture & Delivery
Design, develop, and support inbound/outbound integrations using:
Workday Studio
EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder)
Core Connectors
Workday Web Services (REST/SOAP APIs)
BIRT reporting
XML, XSLT transformations
Lead integration lifecycle management: requirements mapping build test deploy post-production support.
Troubleshoot integration failures and optimize performance.
Oversee vendor integrations (e.g., payroll providers, benefits vendors, ServiceNow, background check vendors).
Implement secure authentication protocols (SFTP, OAuth, certificates, API security).
