Job description
Overview:
The Software Development Engineer L3 contributes to the ScriptMed Cloud Platform within Inovalon’s Pharmacy Business Unit. This is a mid-level engineering role centered on C#, SQL, and scripting, with a focus on building scalable systems, supporting new customer onboarding, and identifying opportunities for automation. This person will partner closely with a stateside systems engineer, take ownership of projects, and serve as a liaison between business requirements and a distributed engineering team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and deploy solutions within the ScriptMed Cloud Platform;
Build, configure, and modify systems to support new customer onboarding and tenant creation, identifying and implementing automation opportunities for manual workflows;
Translate business and technical requirements into clear, executable work for a distributed engineering team with no direct production access;
Handle client data responsibly, maintaining compliance with data handling, security, and privacy standards;
Collaborate with the stateside systems engineer and stakeholders to gather requirements, participate in design reviews, and deliver well-documented solutions;
Bring new ideas and best practices to a growing team;
Adhere to all confidentiality, HIPAA, regulatory, and other such policies, procedures, and requirements as outlined within Employer’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the scope of work;
Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures, and mission statement, and fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that Inovalon may reasonably provide for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success;
On-Call Policy: Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical issues, including outside standard business hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays), ensuring timely response and resolution as per defined SLAs.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or similar role;
C# proficiency required; this is the primary development language for this role;
SQL knowledge required; ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot queries;
Scripting experience for automation and tooling purposes;
Ability to take ownership of projects and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and test-driven development practices;
Experience working with or communicating across distributed or offshore team structures is a plus;
Strong troubleshooting aptitude and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology required.
