Job description
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior PL/SQL Developer to support Trade Surveillance and Compliance platforms. This role is responsible for designing and implementing high-performance database solutions, building data quality controls, and enabling regulatory reporting and monitoring capabilities across trade lifecycle data. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in PL/SQL, data engineering, and financial markets, with a focus on surveillance, compliance, and data governance.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers for trade data processing.
Build scalable data pipelines to support Trade Surveillance use cases, such as market abuse detection and alerts generation.
Develop and optimize high-volume batch processing jobs.
Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting.
Collaborate with compliance and surveillance teams to translate surveillance scenarios into technical solutions.
Design and implement data quality controls, monitor metrics, and remediate issues impacting surveillance outcomes.
Perform query tuning, indexing, and execution plan optimization for large datasets.
Lead design discussions, document design details, and drive best practices for database development.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years of hands-on software development experience.
Technical Skills:
Strong, production-level knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and Actimize AIS.
Experience with relational and object databases.
Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and a strong understanding of database internals.
Solid understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, and version control.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High attention to data accuracy and control effectiveness.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulatory-driven environment.
Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Python or Shell scripting for automation.
Familiarity with the trade lifecycle (orders, executions, etc.).
Exposure to Trade Surveillance, Market Misconduct, or Global Markets Compliance.
Exposure to the Actimize AIS platform.
