Principal Responsibilities:

Pay: 50% Commission plus Minimum wage for Meetings and Admin hours

Summary

Under the direct supervision of Fitness Coordinator as a member of the Health, Sports, Fitness and Aquatics Team, the Pickleball Pro at the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center (APJCC), part of Jewish Silicon Valley (JSV), is responsible for successfully implementing member engagement and pickleball programming initiatives that align with the core values of the organization. This position serves as a vital role in engaging and retaining members and facilitating a safe and welcoming environment that inspires members to achieve their health and fitness goals.

Areas of Responsibility

Member Engagement

? Strong commitment to creating a warm and welcoming environment to all members and guests

? Ability to foster strong relationships amongst both members and staff in a professional manner

? Act as a catalyst for members to be engaged at the APJCC in areas outside of fitness

? Experience working with a diverse range of people at various levels of fitness and ability

Program Management

? Understanding of the fundamental skills pickleball with ability to implement an appropriate pickleball program for beginner to advanced participants

? Knowledge of current industry standards and trends in pickleball programming

? Strong personal skills in organization and program management

? Administrative skills that include email and high written and oral communication abilities

Leadership

? Ability to work independently

? Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with other team members

? Be a champion for member engagement through relationship building with both staff and members

Operational Effectiveness

? Ability to understand members' pickleball needs based on evaluation process and implement strategies for goal setting

? Knowledge of USAP and recreational pickleball standards and best practices

? Assist the Sports and Fitness Director in the daily operations of the pickleball facility, maintaining the courts in first class condition

? Functional understanding of ancillary sales and pickleball class/lesson pricing

? Base knowledge to create goal setting plan for members to be successful

? Enforce APJCC policies including requirement for pickleball court reservations

Risk Management

? Ability to respond appropriately in an emergency situation

? Ability to recognize and demonstrate safe use of pickleball equipment

? Enforce compliance with all safety regulations among staff and patrons, working to eliminate potential hazards

? Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Education/Special Licenses

? CPR/AED certified

Experience

? Minimum of 2 years of experience in this or a related field

? Work in a Fitness Center/Community Center and typical business office environment

? Ability to lift and carry 45 lbs.

? Ability to stand, walk, properly demonstrate use of pickleball equipment

? Available to work non-traditional business hours - may require evenings and weekend work.

This position is contingent upon the completion and cleared background check of a fingerprint and life scan assessment.
