As an 11th Grade Program Manager, you will be responsible for the advisement and performance of a cohort of ~80 high school juniors. Through a combination of group facilitated workshops and community circles, class observations, and individual advising, you will help Scholars develop holistically. Beyond ensuring a rigorous academic environment, you will be tasked with creating learning experiences that build Scholars’ academic and socio-emotional foundation to successfully navigate high school, college, and career.

Student Advising and Management

In coordination with the 11th grade department, lead and implement SEO Scholars programming on Saturdays, after school, and during the summer for ~80 Scholars.
Build and deliver effective lesson plans with clear objectives and alignment to programming goals.
Create and nurture an environment that encourages intellectual curiosity, an inclusive, close-knit and supportive community, and a college-going culture.
Provide academic advising to all Scholars in their assigned cohort through leading advising hours, conducting meetings for students and parents, and meeting with Scholars 1:1 or in small groups.
Consistently set high expectations for all Scholars to adhere to program policies and behavioral standards.
Provide socio-emotional guidance, advising, and support to ensure Scholars’ successful completion of the program.
Under the guidance of the Assistant Director, develop content and best practices for Scholar advising.
Work with 10th and 12th grade staff to transition Scholars into and from the 11th grade each summer.
Support and guide Scholars through Summer Enrichment Program applications.

Administration & Project Planning

Manage administrative duties including entering and tracking program data accurately and as necessary in Salesforce database to assess student progress
Document, track, and maintain accurate records of all student and caregiver interactions, making referrals to our student services department as needed
Develop and manage project plans with clear deliverables, due dates, and dependencies; regularly report progress and roadblocks to manager and other stakeholders.
Coordinate projects or initiatives that support high school youth development.
Adhere to teamwide programming and administrative calendars.
Data Tracking & Analysis

Facilitate weekly instructor check-in meetings to gather information about Scholar performance and collaborate on action plans to support Scholars.
Track attendance and assignment completion rates and implement timely intervention plans; achieve attendance, retention, and assignment completion goals, and provide timely data to the Assistant Director.
Monitor grades in SEO Scholars classes, high school courses, and standardized test scores; use data to drive advising discussions with Scholars.

Program-wide Support

Foster and maintain relationships with parents, school partners, volunteers, and corporate partners
Assist with the planning, coordination, and supervision of occasional trips (e.g. college tours).
Lean into other projects/duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Understanding the unique needs of first-generation and low-income students.

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to clearly and effectively present content in a public forum, engage in active listening, and command the attention of large groups.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be practiced in building professional relationships and delivering constructive, honest and productive feedback to Scholars and family members.
