Job description

The Junior Cruise Logistics Coordinator supports the Cruise Logistics team by coordinating daily shipment activities, maintaining shipment visibility, updating transportation systems, and providing operational support to Key Account Managers and customers. This role focuses on execution, tracking, communication, and administrative coordination to ensure freight moves efficiently and customer expectations are met.

Key Responsibilities
Shipment Coordination
Create, update, and manage shipment records in the Transportation Management System.
Coordinate shipment bookings with carriers, truckers, airlines, and ocean freight providers.
Monitor shipment milestones and ensure timely status updates.
Track freight movements and proactively identify potential delays.
Escalate shipment exceptions to senior team members when required.
Customer & Vendor Communication
Provide shipment updates to customers, vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
Respond to routine operational inquiries via phone and email.
Assist with coordinating logistics requirements between vendors and cruise line customers.
Support service recovery efforts during shipment disruptions.
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and review shipping documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Verify commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, and customs-related documentation.
Maintain accurate shipment data and supporting records.
Support compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards.
Operational Support
Assist Key Account Managers with day-to-day account activities.
Support quote requests by gathering carrier rates and operational information.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth shipment execution.
Assist with invoicing support, job costing, and shipment closure activities.
Maintain organized records and operational reports.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve shipment visibility and process efficiency.
Support implementation of operational best practices.
Participate in training and professional development activities.
Contribute to team projects and service improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
0-3 years of logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, or supply chain experience.
Degree or coursework in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams).
Experience with transportation management systems is preferred.
