Job description
SUMMARY
Enforces industrial information about custody and lending businesses, including practical, statutory, regulatory and procedural information, both for clients and internal use.
JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepares, maintains and translates reports, news, publications and other materials to the clients and internal use for both physical and electrical manners.
2. Collects all available information related to custody business which includes but is not limited to; market requirement, securities market practice, regulations, taxations, sub custodians' requirements from various sources such as internet, information vendors, industrial magazines, and co-works with Network management department as a liaison.
3. Analyzes the collected information and extract useful information, conduct further research if necessary to prepare the newsletters to distribute to the clients and for internal use.
4. Inform manager when potential problems are expected. If a translation problem has occurred an action is required from the administrator to solve.
5. Responsible for verifying the accuracy, maintenance and update of the contents of the relevant pages on the Bank's web site.
6. Provides daily monitoring for urgent information, which might require immediate attention of the clients, and responsible reporting of any problems to the manager for further informing appropriate personnel and the clients.
7. Provides high quality work by ensuring accuracy and seeking to continuously improve our processes and platforms by embracing new and better ways of doing things
8. Assists planning in relation to improving current services and establishing new services and products with the manager’s advice.
9. Contacts with clients, sub-custodians, Head Office, SMTB GCS and other counterparts inside or outside of the Bank, verbally, by telephone or in writing.
10. Contact customers to present our services, respond to inquiries, and collect their needs for market information.
11. Performs all functions as assigned by the management.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Basic knowledge of cash and securities settlement structure
2. College Degree or equivalent work experience
3. Strong attention to detail, communication skills (verbal/writing) in Japanese and English.
4. Professional attitude and strong work ethics
5. Detail oriented, team player, ability to effectively prioritize work in multiple tasks
environment with critical, inflexible deadlines
6. PC skills in Japanese and English - Microsoft Excel & Word
7. Strong translation skills and good oral and written communications skills
8. Bookkeeping, accounting, custody industries or finance training or experience preferred
9. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and a limited increase in workload during temporary staff absences as well as maintain productivity during down time.
10. Ability to understand, articulate complex research and apply basic concepts of global custody and work effectively in teams.
