Phlebotomist

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Western Nassau County.

The locations will vary in Bellmore, Cedarhurst, Garden City, Great Neck, Mineola, New Hyde Park, Oceanside, Rockville Centre & Valley Stream NY.

Neck Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, scheduled hours vary between 6:30am- 5:00pm and rotating Saturdays 7:30am-1:00pm

Job Responsibilities:

Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups

Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.

Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

Process billing information and collect payments as necessary

Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis

Maintain patient and specimen information logs

Provide superior customer service to all patients

Administrative and clerical duties as necessary

Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications:

1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards:

In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency

Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service

Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

Ability to work independently or in a team environment

Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation

Be at least 21 years’ old
