Job Responsibilities

·        Assist with daily living skills (e.g. lifting, transferring, toileting, bathing, personal hygiene, meals, dressing, social activities, etc.)

·        Promote appropriate community integration and social interaction

·        Assisting in the implementation of outcomes and goals developed in the Individual Plan (IP)

·        Complete paperwork as assigned including documentation (e.g. monthly progress notes, community integration logs, incident reports, etc.)

·        Attend all meetings, in-service training, and monthly supervisions as required by supervisor

·        Work cooperatively with professional and paraprofessional staff in the best interest of the supported individual

·        Work cooperatively with the individual’s family members and caregivers

·        Assist with the individual’s recreational, cultural and vacation plans of his/her choice

·        Ensure that the individual assigned has interaction opportunities with peers who are not disabled

·        Ensure receipts and back-up documentation for any monetary responsibilities

·        Demonstrate proper use of the agency approved time keeping KRONOS (for Arc employees)

·        Complete all agency required trainings for position

·        Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures as specified by The Arc Baltimore

·        Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Required:

·        Must be at least 20 years of age

·        Must be able to work independently

·        Must have own and use personal vehicle

·        Valid driver’s license (not provisional) with a clean driving record

·        Must be able to transport people supported as needed

·        High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Preferred:

·        Related experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills required

·        Intermediate computer skills required

·        Outstanding organizational and time management skills necessary

Working Conditions
