About the Role
The Seasonal Accessible Art Instructor leads art classes designed for participants of all abilities. This position creates a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where everyone can express themselves through art. The instructor plans engaging lessons, adapts activities to meet individual needs, and encourages creativity, confidence, and personal growth.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience teaching art in an inclusive or special needs setting.
Knowledge of adaptive teaching techniques and accessibility practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to modify lessons to meet individual participant needs.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Training or certification in special education, adaptive art, or art therapy.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Familiarity with adaptive art tools or assistive technology.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
Responsibilities
Plan and teach accessible art classes for participants of all abilities.
Adapt projects and materials to meet individual needs.
Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Encourage creativity and provide guidance and support to participants.
Work with program staff, families, and caregivers as needed.
Organize and maintain art supplies and equipment.
Track attendance and communicate with program staff.
Follow all program and safety guidelines.
