About the Organization: Founded in 1875, Hebrew Union College (HUC) is North America's leading institution of higher Jewish education and the center for professional leadership development of Reform Judaism, with campuses in Cincinnati, Jerusalem, Los Angeles, and New York. Position Overview: Working alongside the Office of Recruitment and Admissions (ORA), the Student Ambassador helps create, develop, and implement strategies, experiences, and materials to attract applicants, enhance current student relations, train students as lifelong recruiters and mentors, and increase publicity for the College-Institute. **This individual must be a current HUC student.** Responsibilities: • Serve as first contact for visiting prospects and coordinate schedules with ORA staff, school program directors, faculty, and students • Engage and train current students to serve as campus hosts during classes, tefillah, meals, and housing • Support the ORA team with Open House planning and on-campus interviews, including hosting meals with applicants and students • Contact prospective students to learn their goals for graduate study, explain the admissions process, and answer questions • Invite admitted students to campus and advise on YII program and campus selection • Manage reimbursement of students and visitors, and report on campus visits • Support information sessions and webinars, and conduct research and data collection as requested Qualifications: • 2 years minimum of graduate and/or seminary schooling and training; preference for HUC-trained • 1+ years in community engagement programming • 2 years of active membership in the HUC community; must be a current student • Knowledge and experience of the greater Jewish community, locally and beyond • Excellent record keeping skills, attention to detail, and self-motivation • Recruitment experience, academic or sales, is not required but appreciated Compensation: $30 per hour for approximately 5 hours per week (up to $300 per pay period). The period of hire is October 5, 2026 – April 20, 2027 (up to $4,200 gross pay). Travel opportunities may arise locally and nationally for additional pay. Student Ambassadors may take unpaid time off as needed.
