This person will lead a team of highly-skilled HRBPs and serve as HRBP to client groups including the growth team..
The ideal candidate brings deep business partnership experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments, and is equally comfortable operating strategically and driving operational excellence across people programs. This person will bring experience driving AI adoption, utilizing metrics-driven decision-making, and evolving fit-for-purpose solutions to organizational design, talent planning, and learning & development with a focus on business outcomes.
As the Senior Director, HRBP you will focus on the following areas:
Team & Org Leadership
Lead and develop a team of senior HRBPs; set a high bar for business partnership quality, coach to individual growth, and build team capacity as Maven scales
Serve as HRBP to our growth team along with senior executive client groups including G&A, providing strategic counsel on organizational design, team effectiveness, and leadership through change
Lead the approach to sensitive employee relations matters, mitigating risk and ensuring thoughtful, values-aligned decision-making across teams
Partner with the SVP, People and CFO on workforce planning, ensuring headcount strategy aligns with business priorities, growth plans, and financial targets
Support executive- and board-level reporting on organizational health, leadership pipeline, and people metrics
Talent Programs
Design and deliver Maven's highest-priority talent programs — including performance management, talent reviews, and manager development
Own retention strategy and execute targeted interventions for critical talent segments
Lead organizational design work, including spans and layers analysis, team restructures, and role clarity initiatives
Build and evolve L&D programming, with a focus on manager effectiveness, especially as Maven navigates AI transformation across the business
Data, AI & Operational Excellence
Champion scalable, data-informed, and AI-enabled people practices; use people analytics and workforce insights to inform decisions and measure program impact
Drive AI adoption within the People function — including deploying AI tools in HR workflows such as performance calibration, engagement analysis, manager coaching and workforce planning
Enable managers to lead effectively through Maven's AI transformation by building the skills, frameworks, and support structures they need
Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner closely with People Operations, Recruiting, Employee Experience, Finance, and Legal to ensure clear roles, efficient processes, and consistent employee experience
Act as a connector across functions — bringing objectivity, empathy, and judgment to complex, cross-cutting people issues
We’re looking for you to bring:
10+ years of experience in Human Resources Business Partner, People leadership, or equivalent business operations roles
5+ years of people management experience; proven track-record of developing senior talent
Experience supporting executive leadership teams in high-growth or transformational environments and demonstrated success leading organizational change and scaling teams through rapid growth
Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills and ability to establish rapport, quickly build credibility, and engage in executive-level partnerships
Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people strategy to operational and financial outcomes
Experience leveraging AI-enabled workflows to drive operational excellence and consistency, and using people analytics and workforce insights to inform strategic decisions
Excellent communication skills in all forms that exhibit your objectiveness, empathy, patience, and diplomacy
An entrepreneurial drive, ability to create order from chaos, and willingness to roll up your sleeves to directly solve challenging problems
Prior healthcare experience is a plus, but not required
