Accountant (Property Management)

Looking for a seasoned Real Estate Accountant / Property Accountant for our expanding real estate development and property management firm to take care of financial accounting for our real estate portfolio.

Candidates should have significant expertise in accounting real estate transactions and be willing to assume full accountability for our numbers. The position will require daily accounting including accounts payable and accounts receivable, rent collection, security deposits, bank reconciliation, general ledgers, invoices, property expenses and financial bookkeeping.

Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and providing ownership with an analysis of how each individual property performs is another responsibility. It includes recording revenue, operating expenses, NOI, cash flow, budgets, budget versus actual expenses, mortgages, loan payments, interest and other liabilities.

The position will include tracking construction and development expenses, reviewing invoices of contractors and vendors, assigning expenses to proper properties and entities, tracking and recording accounting information for tenants and leases, creating rent rolls and assisting with CAM, real estate tax and operating expense reconciliations.

Other responsibilities will involve tracking all financial transactions between different real estate entities, managing cash and cash flow projections, keeping well-organized financial records and coordinating with outside CPAs on tax returns, year-end accounting activities, audits and other accounting issues.

We need an accountable professional capable of spotting any discrepancies and providing management with accurate information in a timely manner. Ideal candidates should have real estate accounting and property management background, extensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements, good Excel skills and QuickBooks and/or real estate accounting and property management system experience.
