Job description

We are looking for a highly proactive Product Manager / UX Researcher who can work closely with real users every day, uncover behavioral insights, and directly influence product decisions.

This is not a passive research role.

We want someone who is comfortable personally hand-picking users, onboarding them into the platform, scheduling and conducting interviews, collecting feedback continuously, identifying emotional and usability friction points, and working directly with product/design teams to improve the experience.

Your calendar should ideally stay full with user onboarding sessions, feedback calls, usability walkthroughs, and retention analysis.

You will become one of the main voices of the user inside the company.

Responsibilities

Recruit and hand-pick ideal target users for onboarding and research
Conduct user interviews, onboarding sessions, usability tests, and feedback calls
Observe user behavior patterns and emotional responses throughout the product journey
Identify onboarding friction, confusion points, drop-offs, and engagement opportunities
Translate qualitative insights into actionable product recommendations
Work closely with founders, product managers, and designers to improve UX flows
Create structured reports, summaries, user personas, and behavioral insights
Continuously improve retention, activation, and emotional engagement metrics
Help shape the tone, trust, empathy, and emotional experience of the product
Qualifications

We strongly prefer candidates with prior experience in:

Mental wellness apps
Meditation apps
Therapy platforms
Emotional wellbeing products
Habit-building or behavioral health products
Examples include experience at companies such as:

Calm
Headspace
BetterHelp
Talkspace
Noom
Similar consumer wellness or behavioral health startups
Ideal Candidate

Deeply empathetic and emotionally intelligent
Exceptional communication and interviewing skills
Strong understanding of user psychology and behavior
Comfortable talking to users all day
Highly organized with scheduling and follow-ups
Able to identify patterns from qualitative feedback
Startup-minded and comfortable moving quickly
Passionate about improving mental wellness products
Nice to Have

Background in psychology, behavioral science, UX research, or human-centered design
Experience with onboarding optimization and retention analysis
Familiarity with tools like Hotjar, FullStory, Dovetail, Maze, UserTesting, or similar platforms
Experience working in fast-moving startup environments
