We're looking for an energetic, personable High School Admissions Representative to serve as the face of Aveda Institute of Chicago within the local high school community. This role travels to high schools to attend career fairs, career days, and other recruiting events to introduce students to career opportunities in the beauty industry and share what our institute has to offer. Beyond recruiting, this person will play a hands-on role in supporting students through enrollment, financial aid, and job placement, and may also have the opportunity to teach within the school.
Key Responsibilities
Represent the Aveda Institute of Chicago at high school career fairs, class visits, and other recruiting events across the region
Plan and run interactive games and activities (like spin-to-win wheels) at events to draw students in and boost participation
Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors, career center staff, and administrators
Educate prospective students and families on career paths in the beauty industry and the programs our school offers
Guide prospective students through the admissions process from first inquiry through enrollment
Assist students with financial aid applications and questions
Support job placement efforts, connecting graduating students with employer opportunities
Occasionally assist with teaching or classroom support within the school, depending on licensure and availability
Track and report on recruiting activity, event attendance, and enrollment outcomes
Qualifications
Graduate of a cosmetology, esthetics, or related beauty/wellness program preferred
A professional license in the beauty industry preferred (cosmetology, esthetics, massage therapy, or similar)
Prior experience in admissions, recruiting, sales, or education preferred
A genuine people-person — someone who lights up a room and connects easily with students, parents, and school staff
Comfortable with regular travel to high schools within the region; reliable transportation required
Strong public speaking and event/presentation skills
Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage a variable schedule of events and appointments
