Job description

Who will love this job
A deal-maker - you enjoy finding the path from "we need to think about it" to "signed, sealed, delivered," while keeping sound legal judgment at the table.
A contract detective - you can spot the important details, untangle tricky language, and turn legal fine print into clear, practical guidance.
A business partner - you build strong relationships with Sales and cross-functional teams, bringing a collaborative mindset and knowing when to advise, negotiate, or escalate.
A workflow wizard - you love making processes smoother, using smart tools to help the team work more efficiently without letting quality or compliance fall through the cracks.

What you’ll do
Draft and negotiate customer-facing SaaS agreements, including MSAs, order forms, DPAs, SLAs, and related documents, escalating complex or non-standard terms to senior counsel as needed.
Support commercial negotiations end-to-end, helping structure deals that balance customer needs with Greenhouse's risk, operational, and compliance requirements.
Partner with Sales and Deal Desk as a primary Legal contact for mid-market and enterprise transactions, answering questions, resolving issues, and unblocking deals.
Manage data privacy and security aspects of deals by handling DPA negotiations and collaborating with Security/IT on customer security questionnaires and related reviews.
Build and improve scalable contracting processes, workflows, templates, and playbooks (including through AI-powered tools) to reduce friction in the sales cycle and increase throughput over time.
Enable the Sales organization by developing training materials, self-service resources, and guidance on common contract terms so reps can navigate routine issues independently.
Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risk, liability, and compliance issues in a practical, business-oriented way that aligns with Greenhouse's strategic priorities.
Additional projects and responsibilities as business needs require.

You should have
A JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
3-5 years of legal experience, with at least 2 years focused on commercial / transactional work (in-house SaaS experience preferred).
Working knowledge of B2B SaaS agreements, including MSAs, SaaS terms, AI addendums, SLAs, and data processing agreements.
Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of concurrent contract negotiations and prioritize effectively under time pressure with strong attention to detail.
Experience using, or a willingness to adopt, AI-powered contract review and workflow tools, along with a comfort level navigating questions about AI in customer contracts.
Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and related privacy frameworks as they relate to commercial contracting.
A track record as a strong relationship builder with sales leaders and business partner, and the judgment to know when to push back, compromise, or escalate.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts in clear, plain language tailored to different audiences.
Familiarity with HR tech, recruiting, or workforce software, a plus.
Experience with AI/ML contract terms and emerging AI regulations, a plus.
Your own unique talents! Your background has given you a unique perspective and set of transferable skills that aren't always in alignment with a given role - but those are qualities we value at Greenhouse. If you don't meet 100% of the qualifications outlined above, we still strongly encourage you to apply
