Smartsheet Configuration Consultant

About This Role
We are seeking a Smartsheet Configuration Consultant to support clients in designing, configuring, and optimizing Smartsheet environments that enable scalable execution, transparent reporting, and effective program governance. This role sits at the intersection of process design, technology enablement, and change management, translating business needs into intuitive Smartsheet solutions that teams actually adopt.

What You Will Work On
Design, build, configure, and administer complex Smartsheet solutions, including sheets, reports, dashboards, forms, Dynamic View, Pivot App, DataMesh, and automation workflows.
Translate business requirements into scalable Smartsheet solution architecture and structured data models.
Manage large, highly structured datasets with extensive field sets and multiple data sources while protecting data integrity and designing within Smartsheet platform limits.
Configure and support DataMesh solutions to synchronize and distribute data across sheets and reports using defined source data, target data, and match keys.
Configure Pivot App solutions to summarize large datasets, create refreshed reporting outputs, and support dashboards and executive reporting.
Build and maintain cross-sheet formulas, automated workflows, reports, dashboards, and data-quality controls.
Design and support role-based access models and security controls for large user populations working with sensitive organizational and workforce data.
Establish reconciliation and exception-management processes for data received from multiple sources.
Test, troubleshoot, and optimize Smartsheet solutions, including formulas, workflows, reports, integrations, access configurations, and performance issues.
Support solution releases, enhancements, and production issues after implementation.
Maintain governance documentation, including business processes, operating procedures, data definitions, solution design, testing, and change traceability to support audit readiness.
Participate in recurring governance, design, and documentation reviews with client and internal teams.

What You Will Bring
3–5+ years of hands-on experience personally designing and building Smartsheet solutions for other users, preferably in a client-facing consulting or enterprise delivery environment.
Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into Smartsheet solution designs and builds.
Hands-on Smartsheet configuration experience, including sheets, project plans, forms, dashboards, reports, cross-sheet references and formulas, Dynamic View, and automation workflows.
Hands-on experience personally configuring and supporting DataMesh solutions.
Hands-on experience personally configuring and supporting Pivot App solutions.
Experience designing structured data models and managing large datasets, including reporting optimization and designing around platform performance limits.
Experience establishing unique identifiers, lookup relationships, reconciliation processes, and data-quality controls across multiple data sources.
Working knowledge of enterprise data governance, permissions design, role-based access, and security controls for confidential data.
Experience testing, troubleshooting, and supporting Smartsheet solutions in production.
Strong documentation discipline across process documentation, operating procedures, solution design, data definitions, testing, and change traceability.
Ability to lead requirements-gathering sessions and facilitate working sessions with both technical and business audiences.
Ability to explain technical design decisions and tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred:
Smartsheet certification, at solution professional and above.
Experience with DataTable and Data Shuttle.
Experience with Smartsheet Control Center and Global Updates.
Experience with connectors or integrations between Smartsheet and enterprise systems.
Experience building executive and operational analytics using Smartsheet dashboards and related reporting tools.
Experience supporting high-volume or enterprise-scale Smartsheet environments.
Experience in regulated industries or environments with strict confidentiality, auditability, and access-control requirements.
