Job Description
The Shift Lead role is in addition to the core functional medical receptionist role. When needed, the Shift Lead will engage in handling all operationally related managerial tasks (managing flow; answering patient inquiries, etc. ) and will be able to close/open the site with related procedures.
The Shift Lead is responsible for:
Assist on coverage when Practice Manager and Office Supervisor are away for a period of time
Being able to complete shifts at other sites outside of the usual home site
Opening and closing procedures
Duties and responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of a shift lead are:
Key holder for opening or closing site
Preparation and completion of all tasks needed to open or close a shift
Assisting/managing patient flow; reporting to manager if surges occur
Monitoring/responsible for site upkeep and cleanliness during shifts
Assisting physicians in facilitating stat orders
Escalate any operational and/or HR related issues to management as it occurs while covering a shift
Completion of items on the operational redbook/managers checklists
Assist all staff on workflow
Assist in getting coverage for scheduling holes if the need arises/known during the shift
May be required to complete shifts at other sites outside of home site
Provides training to new hires and auditing charts in partnership with management
Qualifications
A High School Degree or GED
Happy, welcoming, and can-do attitude with patients and coworkers
1 year of lead experience in any industry
Experience working in any high-volume/high-intensity service industry (e.g., hospitality, restaurant, hospital, medical office or retail environment) preferred
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Detail-oriented and a team player
Computer Proficiency and superior keyboarding skills (approximately 55 wpm)
Flexible/adaptable nature to work in a continuously evolving environment
Passion for helping others in a healthcare environment
Ability to effectively interact with physicians, patients and other staff members
Bilingual language skills required or preferred based on site location.
Pay Range: $19.75 - $22.00 per hour
