The Human Resource Assistant reports to the Director of People and Culture and will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of Equality Charter School’s Human Resources Department.

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or grow their career in Human Resources while gaining hands-on experience with HR administration, employee support, recruiting coordination, and payroll-related processes.
The HR Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Human Resources department and serve as a helpful resource to employees with general HR-related questions.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and respond to HR-related emails in a timely and professional manner.
Assist employees with general questions regarding PTO balances, policies, procedures, and other HR-related matters.
Input and process invoices through ProcureDesk, ensuring information is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
Attend and take detailed notes during monthly hiring meetings, including tracking action items and follow-ups.
Assist with recruitment and hiring-related administrative tasks.
Maintain accurate and organized HR records and documentation.
Assist with preparing reports, spreadsheets, and other HR-related documents.
Provide general administrative support to the HR team as needed.
Maintain confidentiality when handling employee information and sensitive HR matters.
Communicate professionally and effectively with employees, managers, and other departments.
Support special HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
Previous administrative, customer service, office, or HR experience preferred.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to learn new HR systems and software quickly.
Strong follow-through and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
A positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude.

Hybrid Travel Expectations
Regular work requires use of a computer and the ability to travel between all three Equality Charter School schools located in the Bronx, with the ability to work remotely as needed/scheduled
