Fractional Controller

Overview

An accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Fractional Controller to act as the primary contact for a diverse group of clients, including those in e-commerce, consumer products, service industries, and non-profits.

Remote Position

Compensation:

Hourly rate: $40-$70

Responsibilities:

• Own client relationships day-to-day, managing communication and long-term account health
• Design and implement scalable accounting processes tailored to each client's business model
• Manage inventory accounting and landed costs where applicable
• Support e-commerce clients with platform-specific needs (Amazon settlements, FBA, fees, returns)
• Identify technology gaps and guide clients through systems implementation
• Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for clients

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum five years of relevant accounting/bookkeeping experience, including monthly and yearly financial closings
• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
• Experience with inventory accounting, landed costs (freight, duties, tariffs), and e-commerce platforms (Amazon, Shopify)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Desktop; ERP (NetSuite) experience a plus
• Open to a flexible, gradually-growing start, one client at a time
