Job description
This role is responsible for performing mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and installation support across presses, lamination lines, slitting equipment, and auxiliary systems.
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, maximizing equipment performance, and supporting overall production goals while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
Production Equipment Support
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on presses, lamination lines, slitting equipment, and auxiliary production systems.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production issues to minimize downtime and maintain workflow efficiency.
Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting and continue developing electrical maintenance skills.
Monitor equipment performance and identify potential issues before they impact production.
Preventive Maintenance
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and replacement of worn components.
Ensure maintenance schedules are completed accurately and on time.
Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions or process improvements to enhance reliability.
Equipment Installation & Projects
Assist with the installation, mechanical alignment, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
Support facility improvement projects involving compressors, utilities, and plant support systems.
Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams on equipment upgrades and process improvement initiatives.
Communication & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, equipment performance, and parts usage.
Communicate equipment status, maintenance needs, and repair progress with Production, Scheduling, and Maintenance leadership.
Support inventory management by identifying necessary replacement parts and maintenance supplies.
Safety & Compliance
Perform all maintenance activities in accordance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment hazards, or potential safety concerns.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform equipment repairs.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring instruments.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to learn and develop electrical troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with printing presses, lamination equipment, slitting machines, or similar manufacturing machinery.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Experience maintaining compressors, utilities, or facility support systems.
Knowledge of continuous improvement practices and equipment reliability initiatives.
