Job description
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple Serefin entities, including consolidated financial reporting.
Perform monthly account reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger analysis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including detailed variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year results.
Analyze financial performance, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to management.
Prepare and maintain annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-range planning activities.
Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reports to support business initiatives and strategic decision-making.
Business Partnership
Collaborate with operational leaders to understand business drivers and provide financial insights that support informed decision-making.
Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes, reporting, and internal controls.
Assist in evaluating business performance through KPIs and financial metrics.
Accounting & Compliance
Prepare corporate income tax returns and supporting schedules for multiple legal entities.
Support interim and annual external audits by preparing working papers and responding to auditor requests.
Develop and maintain documentation of accounting procedures, internal controls, and process improvements to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance financial reporting and analysis processes.
Participate in finance transformation and system improvement initiatives.
Support additional finance projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
Accounting designation in progress (CPA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
3-5 years or relevant accounting, financial analysis and reporting experience
Required experience working with complex ownership structure
Independent preparation and filing of T2 corporate tax returns
Required SRED experience
Working knowledge of accounting systems NetSuite, Expensify and Payworks is an asset
M&A experience
International expansion experience an asset
Self motivated and self-directed individual who enjoys working on a team
Advanced Excel Skills; experience building complex templates and formulas
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
Ability to work closely with senior management team
