Job description
Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of licensed Pharmacist, assist in preparation of filling the prescriptions.
Proficient interpretation of physician orders and prescription information.
Accurately enter prescription data into the computer for processing. Billing 3rd party insurance + PBM's, Obtaining prior authorizations, formulary + reimbursement monitoring.
Responsibility for inventory management, ordering, stocking, and inputting new shipments of medication into the computer and returning overstock items to wholesalers and reverse distributors.
Communicate and interact with Pharmacist, nurses, physicians and support staff (Team Players).
Stock and market OTC medications. (DAILY/WEEKLY)
Responsible for ordering and keeping adequate stock of prescriptions vials and supplies for more efficient dispensing.
Keep shelves fronted, cleaned, adequately stocked and place new medication behind older medications.
Maintain and complete record keeping and filling duties.
Maintain efficient prescription flow. Must be able to assist in filling 300 or more prescriptions a day.
Greet patients and other professionals on the phone and in person.
Monitor wait times on prescriptions.
Ensure telephone messages are legible, detailed, completed, and handled, in a timely efficient manner.
Ensure appropriate patient care by notifying pharmacist of all emergencies or special attention messages.
Ensure appropriate patient care by turning all calls relating to medical questions over to the Pharmacist.
Verify eligibility status of patients.
Understand the inner workings of the Health Center as a whole.
Conduct biannual physical inventory.
Receive prescriptions from patients. Obtain pertinent information and enters appropriate information into the computer.
Assist the Pharmacist by answering telephone calls.
Assist in orientation and training of new Pharmacists, both full time and OPS and Pharmacy Technicians.
Perform other assignments/duties when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Registered with the State of Florida, Board of Pharmacy and 2+ years of appropriate experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates with 2–3 years of experience working in a high-volume retail pharmacy environment.
Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, preferably eClinicalWorks (ECW).
Experience with third-party billing for prescription medications to insurance providers.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $17.64- $19.00. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
This position requires a flexible schedule and availability to work Saturdays and evening shifts as needed.
