Position Overview

The Assistant Director of Programs and Communications will play a central role in the successful delivery of AEN's signature faculty programs, including the Short Course and Faculty Fellowship, regional Hub Convenings, faculty delegations to Israel, thematic conferences, webinars, and other educational initiatives.

Working closely with and supporting the Director of Programs and Partnerships and in consultation with AEN's Member Engagement and Operations teams, the Assistant Director will coordinate program planning and implementation, support faculty presenters and organizational partners, manage program communications, and help ensure a seamless experience for participants before, during, and after AEN programs.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, collaborative, detail-oriented, and excited to help deliver high-quality programs and communications materials that strengthen AEN's growing national network of faculty leaders.

Position Responsibilities

Programming

Partner in the planning of AEN's faculty-facing programs and work collaboratively with AEN’s Leadership Team to ensure their successful implementation.

Responsibilities include:

Conceptualizing program content and strategy.
Coordinating program timelines and planning processes in consultation with Member Engagement and Operations teams.
Serving as the primary coordinator for faculty participants and presenters, guest speakers, consultants, and representatives of partner organizations participating in AEN programs.
Assisting faculty leaders within AEN’s network to develop and execute AEN-branded programming.
Managing communications with members and others participating in AEN programming.
Coordinating logistical needs (e.g., travel, payments, etc.) with internal staff and external vendors, before, during, and after programs.
Conducting post-programming engagement with participants.
Conducting evaluation and assessment of participants’ experience with AEN programs.
Maintaining project documentation, tracking program data, and assisting with participant evaluations.
Recommend improvements that strengthen program delivery, participant experience, and internal coordination across AEN's Leadership Team.

Communications

Support program strategy and member engagement through clear, timely, and effective communications.

Responsibilities include:

Producing AEN's monthly newsletter and other communications for members and partner organizations.
Collaborating with external consultants to secure media coverage of AEN and its members (e.g., features, articles, interviews, quotes, etc.).
Initiating select communications to AEN members and partner organizations.
Supporting writing and editing projects.
Partnering with AEN’s Leadership Team to prepare program materials and promotional content.
Maintaining and updating AEN's website.
Managing AEN’s social media platforms and growing the organization’s social media reach.
Helping to ensure consistency in program messaging and communications.

Experience and Qualifications

BA or an equivalent degree is required.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in AEN’s mission and values, exceptional organizational skills, and experience coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines.
