Job description
esponsibilities
Work collaboratively with assigned BA and BCBA to implement the core principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Provide high-quality instruction and behavioral support to caregivers and staff of adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, physical aggression, and/or other related developmental disabilities
Model the correct implementation of BSPs and behavioral strategies for families and staff.
Train families and/or staff in the application of BSPs and recommended interventions.
Monitor and assess implementation fidelity of BSPs by families, staff, and caregivers.
Track and record behavioral data gathered during sessions and from family/staff reports using ReThink.
Develop and prepare support materials necessary for the implementation of BSPs.
Conduct routine visits to the client’s home, day program, or community settings to provide services and monitor progress.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of behavior analysis principles in all interactions.
Exhibit empathy, compassion, and professionalism in interactions with clients and their families.
Maintain respectful, cooperative, and tactful communication with subordinates, peers, supervisors, clients, families, and other stakeholders.
Cooperate with applicable state department or licensing division during legally mandated inspections or investigations.
Required Availability
A suitable full time Behavior Technician must have flexible, open availability, as hours can possibly be altered at a moment's notice. Anchor Behavioral Solutions guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week, so long as candidates keep their availability as follows:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday: 10 am - 6 pm
Floaters must also be able to flex start and end time of availability by 2 hours with advance notice.
Floaters must be willing and able to travel within a 45-minute radius when needed.
Requirements
Experience:
Ideal candidates have 1 to 3 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in an applicable educational or group setting, particularly within DDD (Division of Developmental Disabilities) and DOE (Department of Education) programs.
Experience with physically aggressive and/or self-injurious clients is strongly preferred.
Plan writing abilities/ability to demonstrate you can carry out the duties of creating BSP's is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Certifications:
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential preferred.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to maintain client confidentiality.
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Must successfully complete State and Federal Criminal Background Checks and Central Registry Checks.
Must possess and maintain a valid New Jersey driver’s license (or license from resident state).
Must have basic technology skills and maintain access to a mobile device or personal computer to complete job-related tasks.
