About the Role
As a Pathology Associate, you will provide high quality and timely processing of pathological specimens through gross examinations, necropsies, tissue trimming and tissue processing as specified in company protocols and SOPs.
What You'll Do Here
Train and become fluent on core SOPs
Necropsy, organ weighing, bone marrow smear preparation, and tissue trimming
Use of an Electronic Data Capture System (EDCS)
Heat sealing and archiving
Quality check (QC) review
PA I will train on becoming a Lead Study Technician (LST)
Reviewing protocols for correctness along with attendance in protocol reviews, pre-necropsy meetings and departmental meetings
Complete study set-up
Maintaining necropsy suites, including other Pathology lab areas
Maintaining instruments and equipment
Maintaining facility records
Assist with chemical management by maintaining stock and working solutions
Assist with waste management, ordering and stocking
Specialized necropsies and tissue trimming procedures as required by protocols
What You Need to Succeed
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) preferred; Associates degree or High School Diploma or additional work experience acceptable
6 months to 1 year biological science or laboratory related work if B.S. or B.A. degree requirement not met
Working knowledge of anatomic biology
Basic computer skills, MS Office Suite required
Proficiency in English including speaking, reading, and writing
Advanced Math skills specifically that apply to scientific data
Basic bench chemistry
Aptitude for pathology and histology techniques
Strong interpersonal skills
Problem solving skills,
Strong attention to detail
Participation in company On-Call policy
Continual GLP training
