Accounts Payable Lead, Finance & Accounting at Jewish Family Service of San Diego

Jewish Family Service of San Diego seeks an Accounts Payable Lead to oversee day-to-day accounts payable operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and corporate credit card transactions. The role provides leadership and guidance to the AP team, maintains strong internal controls, and collaborates with vendors, the procurement team, and the Accounts Payable Manager. Responsibilities: • Distribute daily workloads, monitor invoice processing, and ensure accurate coding and payment • Oversee corporate card workflows, employee card issuance, compliance, and general ledger reconciliation • Support month-end and year-end close including account reconciliations, expense reclass, prepaids, and accruals • Coordinate payment runs including ACH, wire transfers, and check processing; administer check voids and monitor stale-dated checks • Investigate three-way matching discrepancies, complex PO issues, and vendor disputes escalated by AP staff • Prepare weekly aging reports, reconcile vendor statements, and pull documentation for internal and external audits • Coordinate annual 1099 tax reporting to ensure regulatory compliance and timely filing Qualifications: • Thorough knowledge of accounting concepts, theories, practices, and analysis techniques • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment • Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables), accounting packages, and Microsoft Outlook; Financial Edge familiarity preferred • Ability to train and develop staff; excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Nonprofit experience highly preferred • Valid driver's license, access to an automobile, insurance, and willingness to drive off-site as required **Pay:** $27.00/hour. Full-time (37.5+ hours/week), non-exempt, fully onsite.
