Sr. Director or AVP, Philanthropic Engagement (Northeast Fundraising Lead) at BBYO

BBYO seeks a talented, driven fundraiser to serve as Northeast Fundraising Lead, securing financial support for BBYO communities across New York, New Jersey, and New England. The role combines relationship-building, strategic planning, and community engagement — fundraising, developing volunteer leaders, and creating strategic partnerships in each community served, as part of a cross-country development team. Responsibilities: • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies across multiple regional communities • Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects with annual goals for retention, pipeline growth, and new or increased gifts of $1,800+ • Identify and solicit endowment and legacy prospects • Motivate and support local adult lay leadership to advance regional fundraising goals • Plan fundraising and stewardship events and implement #givingBBYOday campaigns in each assigned community • Manage grants and relationships with local foundations and Federations Qualifications: • Minimum 10 years of experience in major gifts development, ideally for a non-profit organization or political campaign • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree welcome • Demonstrated success securing significant philanthropic investments and closing not-for-profit sales • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and storytelling skills • Familiarity with CRM systems, fundraising analytics, and donor prospecting tools; Salesforce preferred • Knowledge of the Jewish community and Jewish nonprofit organizations preferred • Travel as needed (~25%) Salary: $120,000-$200,000, highly influenced by experience, plus eligibility for a discretionary performance bonus.
