Broad Function and Purpose of Position:
The Demand Planner is responsible for the facilitation, implementation and execution of the SIOP process. This is accomplished through business partnerships with Sales and Product management to input the best sales forecast. The Demand Planner will use their professional knowledge, analytics and expertise to fully utilize and be an expert in the Demand Planning tools. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Planning Manager and may include other activities as assigned.
Specific Responsibilities:
Support Sales & Operations Planning process by preparing and analyzing Demand and Supply data and preparing supply plans for the Business Team.
Business Liaison between Operations and Business Team. Apply analytical expertise to the forecasting process to challenge assumptions, ensure best forecast is reflected.
Monitor key customer scorecards and communicate discrepancies with the Business Team.
Monitor finished goods inventory using demand forecasts, historical orders, and software tools to support operations and customer requirements.
Monitor customer demand at each distribution location ensure forecasts are appropriate by SKU/ location to attain the highest level of customer satisfaction (OTS) with lowest cost.
Optimize the inventory velocity and minimize obsolete and aged inventory
Manage new product introductions and product eliminations while preventing scrap
Maintain open and direct communication with customer service and sales to ensure complete understanding of customer needs and requirements while coordinating with logistics to optimize the supply chain efficiency and costs.
Perform other work and projects as required by the Planning Manager.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience: At least 5 years in a supply chain role in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Special Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
Must have good math skills, including the ability to work with fractions, decimals and percentages.
Must be able to use Microsoft Office Programs and SAP as an intermediate user.
Must have the ability to develop process expertise in order to facilitate troubleshooting.
Must be able to maintain an excellent attendance record.
Must be self-motivated and able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
