Position Overview
Due to unforeseen circumstances we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Jewish Studies teacher to join our vibrant K-8 pluralistic zionist community Jewish day school in Cleveland. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a deep connection to Jewish texts, traditions, and values while fostering a love of learning, Jewish identity and positive connection to the state and the people of Israel.

Key Responsibilities
Jewish Studies Education
Teach Jewish history, holidays, Torah, and sacred texts appropriate to each grade level
Guide students in developing text study skills, critical thinking, and interpretive abilities
Connect Jewish values and ethics to students' daily lives and contemporary issues
Lead discussions about Jewish identity, community, and Israel
Community and Spiritual Life
Participate in and help lead school-wide Jewish observances, Shabbat programs, and holiday celebrations
Model Jewish values and create a warm, inclusive classroom environment
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Jewish learning across the curriculum
Engage with students' families to support Jewish learning beyond the classroom
Professional Responsibilities
Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons that incorporate varied instructional strategies
Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school committees
Stay current with best practices in Hebrew and Jewish education
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Jewish Education, Hebrew Language, Judaic Studies, or related field
Fluency in Hebrew (reading, writing)
Strong knowledge of Jewish texts, traditions, practices, and history
Previous teaching experience with elementary and/or middle school students
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Commitment to Jewish education and community
Preferred:
Master's degree in Jewish Education or related field
Teaching certification or credentials
Experience in a Jewish day school setting
Familiarity with project-based and experiential learning approaches
Knowledge of diverse Jewish communities and movements
Personal Qualities

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with students, families, and colleagues
