Job Summary
The Clara I. Adams Honors College at Morgan State University invites applications for an Administrative Assistant II to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Dean, Assistant Director, and Honors College staff. This position coordinates daily office operations, manages communications and scheduling, supports programs and events, maintains records and data, assists with fiscal and purchasing processes, and serves as a primary point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and external partners. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, exercise sound independent judgment, and thrive in a fast-paced, student-centered environment.
Job Duties
Coordinate the daily administrative operations of the Clara I. Adams Honors College.
Provide administrative support to the Dean, Assistant Director, and Honors College staff.
Manage office communications, calendars, correspondence, records, and shared email accounts.
Coordinate meetings, events, and special programs, including logistical planning and support.
Maintain administrative records, databases, and website content while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Assist with purchasing, budget-related transactions, reimbursements, and office inventory in accordance with University policies.
Serve as a primary point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and external constituents by providing exceptional customer service.
Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.
Requested Minimum Qualifications
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education:
A High school diploma or GED is required.
Experience:
At least three (3) years of secretarial experience is required.
Other:
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Other Preferences for Consideration
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience working in higher education.
Experience with Banner or other student information systems.
Experience coordinating events, maintaining websites, and supporting budget or purchasing processes.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain confidentiality, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
